Jonathan Dueck

Jonathan Dueck's primary interest is the role of commerce and communication in electronic environments in general, and in three-dimensional collaborative virtual environments in particular.  "There's still so much to learn and understand about how to engage prospects in this new virtual medium. In virtual worlds, people are often more emotionally involved than they are with more traditional media, and that is both a blessing and a curse. The rules are changing, and It's an exciting research topic right now", says Dueck. "For my Capstone Project, I'm examining social networking and collaborative virtual environments in the context of established communication theories, with the goal of understanding the mechanics of success -- and what that success might look like."
