Asian America Journalist Association (AAJA) Minnesota Journalism Scholarship
This scholarship is to assist Asian American students pursuing degrees in Journalism and Mass Communications. Established by members of AAJA Minnesota.
James S. Barden Memorial Scholarship
In the memory of Mr. Barden’s educational efforts, this fund is established to aid undergraduate students enrolled in the advertising sequence in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Established by Mrs. Donna Barden and friends of the late James S. Barden.
Thomas F. Barnhart Memorial Scholarship
For visual communication/graphic arts students; based on academic performance, journalistic potential and financial need. Both graduate and undergraduate students eligible.
Elliot M. Baron Memorial Award
Awarded to an outstanding journalism major student who has worked successfully on a student publication. Established by the friends and family of Elliot M. Baron.
Thomas Bartikoski Memorial Scholarship in Public Relations
This scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to students majoring in journalism and mass communication with a particular emphasis in strategic communication. More specifically, it is intended to support students with career interests in public affairs communications and those with established records of academic excellence and leadership evidenced by active participation in the Williard Thompson chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Established by Wendy Horn and Tom Bartikoski’s family and friends.
Anita Beck Memorial Scholarship
For an SJMC major or graduate student, preferably whose interests are in graphic arts or photocommunication; based on academic performance, journalistic potential and financial need. Established by Anita Beck’s son, Mr. Peter Beck.
Carroll Binder Scholarship
Awarded to a student, graduate or undergraduate, who shows promise in the reporting and/or interpreting of international affairs, and who expects to go into newspaper work. Established by colleagues and friends of the late Carroll Binder.
Patrick Connolly Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a journalism major in the news-editorial program. The Journalism Scholarship Committee will make the selection based upon academic performance, journalistic potential and financial need. The student may be either a junior or senior. Established by Associated Press Correspondent, Class of 1965.
Peter and Elizabeth Edmonds Scholarship
Undergraduate journalism majors or students intending to major in journalism. Based on good academic standing and potential in their field. Established by Elizabeth Donovan Edmonds.
Herbert Berridge Elliston Memorial Scholarship
Seniors or graduate students awarded based on merit and financial inability to provide for a college education. Established by Miss Hilma L. Eckstrand, co-worker and friend of Mr. Elliston.
Curtis L. Erickson Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to majors in the news-editorial sequences in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Established from a bequest by the late Curtis L. Erickson.
Floren Scholarship
Undergraduate major in the advertising program based on merit. Established by David Floren.

Undergraduate majors whose principal interest is advertising with outstanding potential and in good academic standing. Established by Patricia and William Greer.

Brad Johnson Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate SJMC majors whose primary interest area is advertising; based on academic performance, journalistic potential and financial need. Established by WCCO-AM, WCCO-TV, WLTE, and friends and family of Brad Johnson.

F. Gerald Kline Memorial Scholarship
Undergraduate and graduate SJMC students of superior academic performance, journalistic potential, and financial need. Established by friends and family of F. Gerald Kline.
Carol Ladwig Endowed Scholarship
Students majoring in journalism and mass communication with a particular emphasis in strategic mass communication. Minimum 3.0 GPA. Established by Carol Ladwig.
Jason Leidahl Memorial Scholarship
A pre-major, major, or graduate student in the SJMC or the Department of Art. Based on academic performance and future potential. Established by the family and friends of the late Jason Leidahl.
