A rich history of giving: The School of Journalism and Mass Communication is proud that so many of its alumni and friends choose to support the School by making private gifts. In 2006-2007, almost $600,000 was given to the school by individuals and organizations who believe in the School’s mission of education, research, and outreach. Major gifts: The School is the grateful recipient of a number of major gifts. Gifts of $25,000 and above are recognized by membership in the University of Minnesota’s Presidents Club. Many of these gifts are used to fund student scholarships and fellowships, allowing the School to attract and retain the best and brightest students from Minnesota, the country, and around the world.

Matching gift opportunities: Gifts of $25,000 or more which are designed for new graduate student fellowships endowments are eligible for a “payout” match program from the University of Minnesota Graduate School. Under this program, the income generated from an endowed fund will be matched by the Graduate School, meaning that the dollars available to students will be doubled.
